Job Title: Material Handler

MGS Mfg. Group is seeking a highly skilled Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the cell to ensure materials are ready for press start-ups and all materials are pulled away.
  • Prepare specified materials, clean equipment, and remove any remaining materials.
  • Know and follow all of the Company's safety rules, such as safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Serve as a good role model to employees for safe work practices and behavior.
  • Learn and master all necessary areas of the quality system.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Review materials list and prepare materials to ensure materials are ready for press start-ups.
  • Ensure packaging and any additional materials are at the press for start-ups and throughout the job.
  • Communicate updates to the cell and with previous and following shifts the status of presses.
  • Transfer completed pallets and remove garbage and scrap from the cell.
  • Participate in Line Clearance process ensuring all packaging and materials put away back in inventory.
  • Label all dryers with a Material Identification Tag(s) and verify they match the BOM.
  • Clean the dryer, grinders, and conveying equipment completely during changeover activities.
  • Perform dryer preventive maintenance.
  • Clean all material areas at the end of the shift.
  • Count, weigh, and verify raw materials.
  • Follow surge bin connection instructions.
  • Verify that product being moved has a move ticket.
  • Be a backup for the cell as needed, which may include running a press.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination accrued on-the-job training and experience.
  • Fork truck and Lock out Tag out certification.
