Position Summary

As a proactive organization in response to COVID-19, we prioritize the safety of our members and staff. The Program Assistant plays a crucial role in promoting positive social interactions through a blend of academic, social, health, and recreational activities. This position involves guiding, supervising, and ensuring the safety of members while actively participating in various activities to provide encouragement and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and oversight of program activities.
  • Facilitate lessons using diverse teaching methods and approaches.
  • Monitor the movement of members across all designated areas.
  • Maintain the organization and care of materials, reporting any misuse or damage to the Program Director.
  • Employ behavior management techniques to address inappropriate conduct and communicate incidents to the Age Group Director and relevant staff.
  • Participate in mandatory professional development sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience in youth development, education, or afterschool programs is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Relevant college or technical school credits.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
