Position: Youth Program Coordinator

Location: Flushing, NY

Salary Range: $20.00 per hour

Fall Schedule: September to December

The Boys' Club of New York (BCNY) has been a leader in youth programming since 1876. Our mission is to provide free, high-quality programs that foster brave spaces for boys and young men to connect, have fun, and build lifelong friendships.

Job Summary

We are a COVID-19 proactive organization that prioritizes the safety of our members and staff. The Program Coordinator will participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating educational, recreational, and social programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement programs and curricula under the supervision of the Age Group Director
  • Assist in planning and managing daily activities in the clubhouse and external spaces
  • Support the Age Group Director with special events, parent activities, and trips
  • Manage training, supervision, and evaluation of frontline staff and volunteers
  • Use behavior management strategies to defuse inappropriate behavior and communicate incidents with the Age Group Director and other necessary staff
  • Attend mandatory professional development trainings

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in youth development, education, or afterschool
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with young children, staff, and parents
  • Experience managing multiple priorities
  • Well organized, able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Experience managing staff preferred
  • Associates' or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • First Aid and CPR certification desirable
