Position Overview:
Location: Saddle Brook, NJ

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure patient consent is properly documented.
  • Prepare and position patients for both simulation and treatment processes.
  • Create and manage simulation and verification imaging.
  • Document procedural timeouts accurately.
  • Prepare equipment necessary for radiation delivery.
  • Plan and administer treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Maintain precise records of each patient's treatment.
  • Adhere to radiation safety and protection protocols.
  • Implement ALARA principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Monitor patients visually and aurally throughout the treatment process.
  • Engage in treatment planning, including tumor localization and optimal treatment techniques.
  • Achieve precise patient alignment using imaging and external markers.
  • Assist in the computer-based planning of specific treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and dosimetrists to address treatment inaccuracies and report any deviations from established protocols.

General Functions:
  • Actively participate in quality assurance processes mandated by law and accreditation bodies, as well as clinical quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work with IT administrators to optimize automated billing systems and assist in audits.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to push and pull objects, considering frequency and weight.
  • Physical strength to lift heavy items, carts, or equipment.
  • Mobility to move between locations on the job, accounting for distance and speed.
  • Agility to maneuver effectively while stationary.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers.
  • Maintain balance while climbing, bending, or reaching.
  • Endurance for continuous tasks such as typing, prolonged standing, or walking.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a JRCERT accredited program in Radiation Therapy or equivalent.
  • Current certification and registration in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Travel Requirements:
Willingness to commute to various locations as necessary.
