Position Overview

NAVISTAR is in search of both entry-level and experienced Assemblers to enhance our dynamic workforce. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling various components and products utilizing a diverse range of tools and equipment. A strong emphasis on quality, accuracy in work, and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Our facility is climate-controlled, including the manufacturing area.

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 1st Shift (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM) or 2nd Shift (7:30 PM - 6:00 AM), Availability for Both Shifts Required

Benefits commence on DAY ONE

Compensation: Starting at $20.25 per hour, with an additional 6% Shift Differential for 2nd Shift.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Receiving incoming components and assembling them into products according to process instructions while performing necessary gauge verifications.
  • Executing all tasks required to uphold quality and productivity standards.
  • Assisting or substituting for colleagues as needed to achieve uptime goals.
  • Actively participating in the work group and contributing to team objectives.
  • Aiming for continuous improvement and focusing on process efficiency.
  • Providing instruction, assistance, and direction to others as necessary.
  • Ensuring adherence to process instructions, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans, while promptly notifying the group leader of any discrepancies.
  • Taking responsibility for meeting objectives and strategizing plans.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Additional Qualifications
  • Candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee). Navistar does not plan to provide employment-related work sponsorship for this position.
  • Physical Requirements (Ability to perform the following for up to 10 hours per shift):
    • Walk, stand, sit, bend, twist/turn, kneel, squat, crawl.
    • Climb using both legs and arms.
    • Head/neck movement.
    • Reach outward or above shoulder height.
    • Lift, carry, push, or pull between 15-45 pounds.
    • Repetitive use of hands and fingers.
    • Utilization of vibrating tools.
    • Exposure to consistent and intermittent noise, fumes, smoke, gases, solvents, paint, grease, oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces.
  • Willingness to work any shift is required.

  • At least six months of experience interpreting assembly build instructions.
