Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Quik Travel Staffing. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
  • Demonstrate knowledge of age-related information to produce appropriate images
  • Use independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to the appropriate physician
  • Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer's care
  • Assist with the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintains adequate supplies
  • Report equipment failures to the appropriate supervisor or staff member
  • Establish and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all interrelating departments
  • Coordinate with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided
  • Address problems of patient care as they arise and makes decisions to appropriately resolve the problems
  • Organize daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required
  • Prevent the transfer of infection and blood borne contaminants
  • Comply with policies and procedures of Direct Staffing and client facility
  • Perform assignments in an independent and professional manner
  • Observe and maintains compliance with all OSHA, JCAHO, Federal, State, and County regulation
  • Complete all other work assignments, within Providers field of experience and certification, as assigned by client facility
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
  • Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate
  • Must be ARDMS registered in OBGYN
  • Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate
  • 3-4 years experience
  • BLS Card from American Heart Association or CPR for Healthcare Providers from American Red Cross
  • Los Angeles Fire Safety Card
