Position Overview:


This role involves the coordination and execution of educational initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills and professional growth of nursing personnel within Sutter Health. Responsibilities include the orientation of new staff, validation of competencies, in-service training, and ongoing professional development.

The educator will assess, design, implement, and evaluate nursing education programs that align with healthcare trends, identified learning requirements, departmental objectives, quality improvement initiatives, risk management strategies, regulatory updates, and compliance standards.

Educational offerings such as courses, simulations, and programs will be developed using methodologies that reflect adult learning principles and various learning styles.

The position entails overseeing nursing orientation education, conducting competency evaluations, facilitating continuous professional development, and establishing courses and programs based on annual assessments of educational needs and compliance requirements.

Educational activities will be delivered to ensure nursing staff maintain, develop, and enhance their knowledge and skills.

Maintaining educational and competency documentation in accordance with hospital standards, as well as those set by the Department of Healthcare Services (DHS), Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), The Joint Commission (TJC), and the Institute for Medical Quality (IMQ) is essential.


Job Description:

EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Registered Nurse:
BSN or MSN preferred.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
RN - Registered Nurse in California

BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of clinical experience in an acute care environment.

2+ years of experience as a clinical educator.

2+ years of experience in a perioperative setting.

Pay Range is $87.08 to $114.94 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location.

This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.
