Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead and implement initiatives to modernize Texas WIC, maximize the use of technology, integrate technology systems, streamline program processes and synchronize complimentary work to ensure continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic planning to ensure successful implementation of complex, multi-faceted, multi-year information technology projects.
  • Hires, manages, trains and coordinates the training of project and technical staff as needed.
  • Directs, develops, and evaluates projects utilizing accepted project management methodologies.
  • Conducts research of technology applications and integrations and creates formal recommendation documents.
  • Oversees the preparation of written documents including project management plans, USDA-required Advanced Planning and Implementation Advanced Planning documents (APD & IAPD), subsidiary plans, scope agreements, business/systems analyses and proposals, policies, procedures, and customer documentation for end-users or system support staff.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of structured project management techniques as advocated by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of computer systems and management information systems.
  • Knowledge of software integrations and Application Programming Interfaces.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results in an environment of broad, consultative management.
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule, assign, and monitor completion of multiple assigned projects.
  • Ability to lead diverse teams to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to present information to a variety of audiences, verbally and in writing, and to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively.
Working Conditions

This position will require the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and project management skills.

This position will be based in Austin, Texas, and will require occasional travel to other locations within the state.
