Job Title: Registered Nurse

Covenant Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at Lakeside Primary Care. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide professional nursing care to patients in an outpatient clinic setting, coordinating care planning with other disciplines as appropriate.

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
  • Precept new employees/students as needed, reviewing clinical performance with the office manager or clinical instructor/supervisor.
  • Cooperate with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and infection control policies.
  • Prepare patients for scheduled procedures, assist in patient assessment, and accurately record history and perform basic triage procedures per policy.
  • Create nursing history and discuss recommendations for appropriate interventions with the appropriate practitioner.
  • Resolve complex patient/management/physician problems without direct supervision, demonstrating clinical expertise and knowledge.
  • Ensure patient comfort and privacy by using the AIDET fundamentals of communication.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families during their visit.
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy of recording on patient medical records, maintaining all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
  • Ensure an adequate stock of supplies and well-maintained equipment.
  • Inspect the area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, taking corrective action when violations occur.
  • Schedule all outside patient appointments per physician order and relay accurately to patients.
  • Take calls from hospitals/nursing homes and relay appropriate information to the practitioner in a timely manner.
  • Assure test results are received and relayed to the patient in a timely manner.
  • Complete medical orientation checklist and initiate appropriate patient education.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, implementing care appropriate to diagnosis and per physician order.
  • Problem solve and coordinate clinic patient care with physician supervision, demonstrating competence in performing skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in the field of expertise.
  • Collaborate with the patient, physician, and other care team members as part of a team-based approach to overall patient care.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:

Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of professional nursing experience.

Licensure Requirement: Must have a valid Tennessee RN license. CPR, OSHA training annually.
