About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team at Georgia-Pacific's San Leandro facility. As an HR Business Partner, you will play a critical role in partnering with managers and employees to drive business results and advance continuous improvement of HR processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build effective working relationships with site leaders and employees to drive business outcomes
- Provide guidance and support on HR-related matters, including compensation, benefits, and employee relations
- Align HR goals with site business objectives and track progress
- Partner with operations and maintenance leaders to ensure optimal staffing and talent management
- Support supervisors, managers, and leaders in implementing our compensation philosophy and succession planning
- Provide input and tools to support key employee retention, high potential employee development, and Principle-Based Management
- Headcount reporting, timekeeping support, and HR systems support
- Regular engagement with hourly staff through spending time in the plant
- Ownership of HR projects and transformation initiatives with a focus on change management and leadership
- Grievance/Arbitration management and navigating complex Labor Relations strategies and union relationships
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 or more years in an HRBP, HR Generalist, or HR Manager role
- Experience partnering with plant leadership to drive initiatives
- Experience developing and partnering with front-line supervisors
- Experience analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to leaders
- Knowledge of employment laws and practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Advanced degree in Human Resources, SHRM-CP, or SCP certification
- Experience supporting a union facility
- Experience with project management
Compensation and Benefits
We anticipate paying $90,000 – $120,000 per year, with eligibility for variable pay. Our benefits plan includes medical, dental, vision, flexible spending and health savings accounts, life insurance, ADD, disability, retirement, paid vacation/time off, educational assistance, and may also include infertility assistance, paid parental leave, and adoption assistance.
