Job Overview

Position Summary:

  • The role of the service technician assistant encompasses a variety of responsibilities:
  • Executing installation, removal, upkeep, diagnostics, and repair tasks associated with propane tanks, supply systems, and appliances.
  • Safely transporting propane tanks and related apparatus.
  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate a solid ability in troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
  • Must be capable of adhering to both written and verbal instructions provided by a service technician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and removal of propane tanks and gas-operated appliances.
  • Installation and maintenance of gas piping systems, including underground and above-ground lines, as well as interior piping and other associated equipment.
  • Conducting diagnostics, maintenance, and repair work related to propane tanks, supply systems, and gas-operated appliances.
  • Performing inspections and leak tests on supply systems and equipment.
  • Maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing company-owned equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Relevant experience is preferred.
  • Employment is contingent upon verification of a clean driving record, background checks, and pre-employment/random drug testing.

Supervisory Role:

  • This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

  • This role primarily operates in the field, with a focus on outdoor work.

Physical Requirements:

  • The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. While executing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, push, pull, climb, crawl, kneel, and lift items exceeding 25 lbs. The use of company-provided equipment (e.g., two-wheel dolly, power truck tailgate, hydraulic truck crane) is necessary, as well as manual dexterity for handling and feeling objects, and reaching with hands and arms. Most job functions will be performed outdoors, exposing the employee to varying weather conditions.

Position Type / Expected Work Hours:

  • This is a full-time position with regular working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the possibility of additional hours as required.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel outside of the service area is anticipated to be around 5%.
