Job Title: Paraprofessional - Adult Programs

At St. Coletta's of Illinois, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our team in the Enhanced Staffing Classroom. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in implementing classroom duties, supervising and caring for the needs of our consumers, and contributing to their overall growth and development.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement program activities as prescribed for the Enhanced Staffing Program, following the daily schedule and ensuring the well-being of our consumers.
  • Develop and implement methods of instruction that enhance consumer behavior, personal, vocational, social, and ADL skills.
  • Be knowledgeable of behavior management programs and capable of implementing them in structured and unstructured settings.
  • Provide data related to goal attainment and ensure each consumer works towards individual objectives.
  • Document consumer activities, injuries, and illnesses, and notify nursing of any concerns.
  • Complete documentation as required by agency policy and licensing regulations.
  • Plan and supervise community outings, adhering to established protocols for vehicle use and maintenance.
  • Transport and supervise consumers during transport, ensuring safety and adherence to procedures.
  • Provide crisis counseling and emergency interventions as needed.
  • Perform personal care as required, including toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene needs.
  • Inform Program Supervisors of supplies and materials needed.
  • Attend and participate in In-Service programs and contribute to consumer IPP meetings.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Able to demonstrate approved behavior management techniques
  • Certified by the State of Illinois as a Paraprofessional or Registered Behavior Technician
  • Experience in an educational environment preferred
  • Valid IL driver's license
  • Pass a criminal background check and physical/drug test
  • Pass a MVR background check
