Job Opportunity

The Village of Orland Park Special Recreation Division is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Recreation Instructor Specialist. This position will oversee the coordination of the Rhodes to Independence Adult Day Program, providing leisure, social, educational, and vocational opportunities for individuals with special needs.

Key Responsibilities

This role will involve developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the Rhodes to Independence Adult Day Program on a routine basis. The Recreation Instructor Specialist will assist with staffing assignments, direct oversight of program participants, and attend adult day program committee meetings. Additionally, this role will require regular communication with parents/guardians and program participants, as well as preparation and assistance with program budget needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

A High School Diploma and valid driver's license are required. An Associates or Bachelor's degree in the recreation or education field is preferred, along with a minimum of one to three years of related administrative experience. Strong oral and written communication skills, a great attitude, superb organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This position requires day time availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with office planning time. Up to 19 hours per week, mainly daytime shifts, but some evening and Saturday availability will be necessary. Schedules will be made ahead of time when convenient.
