Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for defining, researching, developing, implementing, and maintaining safe and cost-efficient manufacturing systems, processes, and methodologies. This role employs robust Engineering and Project Management principles, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, product specifications, and quality benchmarks. The engineer will lead and facilitate projects involving new or modified equipment and continuous improvement initiatives, providing insights on safety, manufacturability, and product excellence. A consistent focus on safety, quality, and productivity is essential, embodying a Lean mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries promptly and meeting established deadlines.
  2. Lead projects and collaborate with Operations, Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Develop and document specifications for new machinery, equipment, and automation systems.
  4. Analyze requests from team members for changes in manufacturing methods to enhance Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost efficiency.
  5. Recommend and develop manufacturing methodologies that deliver enhanced value to customers through waste reduction, decreased cycle times, and improved product quality.
  6. Champion the creation and modification of work instructions for use by team members across the organization.
  7. Conduct analyses aimed at cost reduction, quality enhancement, and efficiency improvements.
  8. Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshooting as necessary.
  9. Conduct time studies and establish standards.
  10. Modify and create new routing processes.
Additional Duties:
  1. Support the Safety Committee as required.
  2. Share responsibility for maintaining AutoCAD drawings of the facility, processes, and equipment with appropriate revision control.
  3. Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of General Equipment and Machinery Specifications.
  4. Perform other assigned tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  2. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  3. Strong work ethic with the capability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  4. Highly motivated self-starter.
  5. Excellent writing, presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to perform under pressure.
  7. Technical expertise in manufacturing processes and methods, including flow, layouts, assembly, machining, and tooling.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach to innovation.
  9. Quality-oriented with meticulous attention to detail.
  10. High level of proficiency in computer applications, including AutoCAD and MS Office.
