  • Designing and Developing: Create and implement electronic and control architectures for innovative products, ensuring seamless integration with OEM systems.
  • Providing Technical Oversight: Guide third-party firms in programming and electronics design for product development, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

  • Consulting on Product Development: Act as an internal expert on automation and controls, particularly in areas such as the Internet of Things and pump drive systems.
  • Leading Technical Design: Oversee the architecture of systems, including hardware selection, wireless communication, and embedded software design.
  • Lifecycle Support: Manage the entire lifecycle of product development, from new designs to enhancements of existing software.
  • Strategizing for Growth: Develop strategies to leverage controls and electronics to drive the growth of Viking Pump.
  • Collaborating with Stakeholders: Interface with internal and external customers to discuss project scope, requirements, and conduct root cause analyses.
  • Executing Project Plans: Implement project plans encompassing conceptual design, prototyping, vendor interfacing, and qualification testing.
  • Verification and Testing: Conduct module and system-level verification to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Electrical Testing Design: Facilitate electrical testing, including thermal, EMC, and ESD evaluations.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Work with the Supply Chain team to evaluate and select vendor-supplied components, preparing specifications as needed.
  • Customer Engagement: Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to ensure product solutions align with customer expectations.
  • Maintaining Safety Standards: Uphold a safe and clean working environment by adhering to established procedures.
  • Assisting in Special Assignments: Support the Engineering Director with various special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in industrial control systems and experience with various microcontrollers.
  • Familiarity with tools such as logic analyzers, DMMs, LabView, VFDs, HMI, and DAQs.
  • Capability to develop electrical schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Experience in software development using embedded frameworks and SDKs.
  • Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
  • Ability to navigate multiple certification requirements for product listings.
  • Experience in training operators and technical sales personnel on product operation and troubleshooting.
