Job Summary

The Early Childhood Specialist I is a critical member of our transdisciplinary early intervention team, providing developmental intervention to infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families in natural and inclusive environments. As a Primary Provider, you will serve as the central point of contact for families, managing communication, consultation, and skill-sharing across disciplines to ensure seamless service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized early intervention plans that meet the unique needs and priorities of each family.
  • Provide direct services to children and families, including assessment, evaluation, and intervention activities.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure transdisciplinary services target shared outcomes and promote family-centered care.
  • Facilitate effective problem-solving skills and promote each child's right to thrive in safe, stable, caring, and nurturing environments.
  • Maintain accurate records and data entry for services rendered in the Apricot 360 system.
  • Participate in consultation and skill-sharing with specialty services as needed.
  • Seek guidance, coaching, and supervision from the assigned Lead Early Childhood Specialist to continuously learn and improve.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Current California Education Specialist Credential or added authorization in Early Childhood Special Education preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working with infants and/or young children and their families.
  • Knowledge of typical child development, Early Start Statutes and Regulations, and formal and informal screening tools and procedures.
  • Valid California Driver's license and good driving record with no serious violations for the previous two-year period.
Working Conditions

Staff is required to visit families in their homes, and may be exposed to various environments. Essential physical tasks include sitting on floors, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, standing, stooping, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
