Behavior Intervention Specialist

The Merced County Office of Education plays a vital role in supporting the county's 20 school districts by providing guidance and oversight in areas such as curriculum and instruction, alternative education, business services, early education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing.
Job SummaryUnder the direction of an assigned administrator, this position is part of a treatment team that implements evidence-based behavior reduction and skill acquisition programs developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in one-on-one and group settings.
Responsibilities- Implement evidence-based behavior reduction and skill acquisition programs in one-on-one and group settings.
- Work collaboratively with a treatment team to develop and implement individualized plans for students with challenging behaviors.
- Provide support and guidance to students, families, and educators to promote positive behavior and academic success.
- Collaborate with BCBA to develop and implement ABA-based programs.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of student progress and program effectiveness.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 1 year of experience working with students with individualized education plans (IEPs) and challenging behaviors.
- Unofficial college transcripts (if applicable) or satisfactory results from a proficiency test.
