Job DescriptionAs a Roll-Off Driver for GFL Environmental, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently providing waste removal services to customers across multiple industries. Your duties will include collecting waste from customer sites, transporting it to post-collection facilities, and maintaining the cleanliness of your truck and surrounding areas.
You will also be required to perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, complete and submit vehicle condition reports, and interact with customers and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B, and have at least one year of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate. You should also be able to demonstrate safe driving skills, control operations of equipment, and recognize unacceptable waste.
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is desired, but not required. You must be at least 21 years of age and able to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Drives a roll-off truck along designated routes to collect, exchange, or deliver containers
- Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections and completes vehicle condition reports
- Courteously interacts with customers and the general public
- Cleans loose trash off of truck and surrounding areas
- Maintains and submits a DOT logbook, daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report
This is a physically demanding role that requires regular lifting/moving up to 100 pounds, working in usually loud conditions, and being exposed to extreme hot and cold weather conditions. You will work outdoors up to 100% of the time and occasionally work in high precarious places.
