At The Howard Hughes Corporation, we seek a seasoned professional to join our Ward Village Development team as Director of Preconstruction. This role requires exceptional technical expertise, leadership skills, and attention to detail to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities:- Project Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, supporting internal budgeting and contractor pricing exercises. Conduct constructability reviews and value engineering analysis to meet project budgets while delivering on business plans.
- Technical Expertise: Provide input and support throughout the preconstruction phase, including feasibility studies, cost evaluations, and material selections. Recommend innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency, sustainability, and quality.
- Estimating and Bidding: Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive bids based on thorough analysis of project plans, specifications, and site conditions, coordinating the bidding process and negotiating contracts for cost-effective project delivery.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and finalize contracts, purchase orders, and legal documents related to preconstruction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
We are seeking a highly experienced professional with at least 15 years of relevant experience in preconstruction project management and estimating for condominium or hospitality developments valued between $50-500 million.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent field, along with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and proven ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Design & Construction at our Honolulu, HI office, offering a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment. As a key member of our preconstruction team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our sustainable communities.
What We Offer:Competitive salary: $145,000 - $195,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience, plus comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and generous paid time off.
