As a key member of the BSA Summit Group team, the OA Summit Experience Foreman plays a vital role in delivering exceptional experiences for participants in the OASE program.
Key Responsibilities• Lead groups of participants through the OASE program, ensuring a safe and engaging experience for all.
• Collaborate with OASE and Summit leadership to address any issues that may arise, providing solutions and support as needed.
• Instruct participants on proper and safe trail building techniques, promoting a culture of safety and responsibility.
• Monitor the general health and safety of participants, taking proactive steps to prevent accidents and ensure a positive experience.
• Work with the team to maintain a clean, organized, and inspected work area, adhering to high standards of quality and safety.
Requirements and Qualifications• 21 years of age or older
• Member of the Order of the Arrow
• Must have or be able to obtain Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR Certifications
• Preferred: Trail building experience and ability to use Microsoft Teams for work-related communication and coordination
• Be or become a registered member of Scouting America
Performance Expectations• Complete the contract period with 2-4 positive experiences
• Receive one or more Staff Appreciation Cards from staff or participants
• Contribute at least one improvement to the OASE program
• Provide at least one memorable moment that matters to a participant
Physical Demands• Up to 9 hours a day of standing, walking, hiking, and lifting 70 lbs.
• Pass the physical exam and meet SBR height and weight requirements
