We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Security Systems Service Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a critical part of our commercial security systems team, you will work with our customers to service and maintain various security systems, including alarms, access control, video surveillance, and intercoms.

About the Role:

  • Service and inspect equipment as required by customer or Johnson Controls Security Solutions.
  • Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris.
  • Contact customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
  • Prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions from Supervisor.
  • Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
  • Test operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
  • Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required.
  • Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and handle necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
  • May manage installation teams on larger projects.
  • Couch and mentor less experienced installers.
  • Travel required, using provided company vehicle and equipment.

Requirements:

  • State of Washington General Journey Level Electrician (EL01) license or Master Limited Energy System (EL06) license.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of low voltage experience.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Experience with hand tools, multi-meter usage, and handheld power tools.
  • Ability to pass an MVR, Background Check, and Drug Test.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and occasional weekends to meet customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software House, Lenel, Kantech, Amag, Hirsch, Genetec, ExacqVision, and/or Bosch VMS certifications.
  • NICET II certification or currently enrolled in the NICET program and will obtain the NICET II certification within one year.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of security video surveillance, access control, and/or fire alarm experience.

Hiring Information:
