Radiologic Technologist

As a Radiology Technologist-ARRT at King's Daughters, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by applying x-ray energy and computer processing techniques to assist in diagnosis or treatment.
Duties and Essential Functions- Verify orders and patient information prior to examination, obtain patient's clinical history, and communicate information to the patient or their family member.
- Perform examinations by analyzing relevant information to select the proper scanning protocol, editing scan protocols as needed to ensure the highest possible diagnostic value.
- Accommodate patient needs, positioning them to best demonstrate the area of interest, and observe for changes in patient behavior indicating distress.
- Evaluate images for technical quality, manipulate display parameters, and provide hard copy records with proper patient identification.
- Practice radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Identify and administer contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, and demonstrate knowledge and competency in archival and digitized data.
- Perform diagnostic testing on equipment, report malfunctions, and contact field engineers for service as needed.
- Graduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited radiography program or equivalent.
- Maintain active certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
- Maintain active Radiographer Operators Certificate (ROC) in the Commonwealth of Kentucky or other applicable states as needed.
- Achieve and maintain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
Work in a fast-paced environment with constant exposure to moving mechanical parts, blood and/or body fluids, and infection. Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation. Moderate noise level.
Physical DemandsOccasionally required to maintain a stationary position, frequently required to walk and move about, and frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices. Constantly required to lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds, frequently required to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally required to lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds.
