We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound studies and collaborating with clinicians to ensure the appropriateness of studies.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation and Examination
- Prepare patients for echocardiogram exams, positioning them on examination tables according to departmental standard operating procedures.
- Explain procedures in layman's terms to relieve patient anxiety.
- Diagnostic Imaging and Reporting
- Obtain pertinent imaging and diagnostic reports required for correlation with echocardiogram exams.
- Consult with referring physicians regarding patient history and determine appropriate images required.
- Equipment Setup and Operation
- Set up equipment to administer exams in a timely fashion.
- Use settings on machines to assure accurate results, utilizing technical judgment.
- Analysis and Documentation
- Perform echocardiography procedures, including transesophageal echocardiography, as required.
- Analyze sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during exams.
- Document test results in patient medical records and report findings to physicians.
- Vocational or technical school diploma required.
- One of the following credentials required: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS).
- 1-3 years of technical experience required.
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required.
The salary range for this position is $54.70-$64.18/hour.
