Brockton Area Multi-Servi is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Day Support Professional to join our team. As a Day Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and/or brain injuries to develop and maintain skills that foster personal growth and independence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal care assistance, including toileting, grooming, and mobility support.
- Support individuals in completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Independent Living Development tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, and money management.
- Utilize Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) practices to create a supportive environment that reflects the preferences, needs, and goals of individuals.
- Ensure individuals' nutritional needs are met and assist with feeding as necessary.
- Use adaptive equipment and protective measures as prescribed.
- Learn and utilize communication tools, such as email and tablets, to support individuals' needs.
- Assist individuals with planning and implementing community-based activities and group activities within the day program and local community.
- Create opportunities to teach and support financial and safety skills.
- Assist in developing and implementing Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Day Habilitation Support Plans.
- Transport individuals served to and from day program and other activities as required.
- Use approved techniques to restrain individuals as necessary.
- Record data and maintain accurate documentation.
- At least 3 months experience implementing behavioral support plans and emergency physical interventions.
- High school diploma or equivalent, associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- A minimum of one year experience working with individuals with brain injury, developmental and/or physical disabilities required.
- Ability to record data using a computer and receive and send email required.
- A valid driver's license in state of residence preferred.
- Ability to comprehend materials related to ISPs, PBS, ADL programs, and individual therapeutic programs.
- Ability to speak and write English clearly and accurately.
- Ability to communicate effectively with persons served, families, service providers, and funding source personnel.
- Ability to lift, transfer, push/pull, maneuver, and reposition 25 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally up to 50/60 pounds depending upon program.
- Ability to work effectively in a moderate to occasionally loud work environment.
