Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator/Project Manager to join our team at Rocket City HR. As an Estimator/Project Manager, you will be responsible for business development, estimating, purchasing, project setup, ongoing project management, and project closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, maintain relationships with architects and engineers, and source new clients.
  • Estimating: Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for general contracting projects using standard estimating templates.
  • Project Management: Manage project startup, including bonds, insurance, estimate reviews, creation of new project, schedule management, SOV setup, and billing and purchasing.
  • Ongoing Project Management: Work with team members, manage changes and pricing (RFIs and addendums), track costs, submit change/work orders, schedule meetings, and prepare general correspondence.
  • Project Closeout: Request and complete the final punch list, finalize contract amounts, review with management, and close out with subcontracts.
  • Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable: Manage project accounts receivable and accounts payable actions.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma required, with a college degree preferred and a BSCI a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
  • Redstone Arsenal Access: Redstone Arsenal access is a plus.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • OSHA 30 Certification: OSHA 30 Certification is preferred.
  • Bilingual: Bilingual is preferred.

Competencies:

  • Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, PDF Reader (Bluebeam for Takeoffs), ExctTime for Timecards (or similar system), and Archisnapper for Document Management (or similar system).
  • Soft Skills: Ability to manage repeat customers, deal with low-bid projects, present yourself in a professional manner, be involved in professional organizations, represent the company in a respectful manner, and work collaboratively with team members, clients, and subcontractors.

Physical Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, walk, and use stairs. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
