New Story Schools is currently looking for a part-time qualified Behavior Technician to guide and support students in their educational journey.

New Story In-District Services (IDS) collaborates with local educational institutions to enhance special education offerings by providing a team of professionals, including BCBAs, Teachers, RBTs, and Mental Health Associates. Our mission is to empower educators, case managers, and support staff, ensuring the best possible outcomes for students with diverse needs. Through specialized support and ongoing professional development, we strive to elevate the educational experience and foster significant advancements within the district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize principles of behavioral science to effectively tutor students and manage behaviors as necessary.
  • Conduct data-driven practices as assigned.
  • Implement Precision Teaching and discrete-trial training methodologies.
  • Administer direct instruction programs and techniques.
  • Employ explicit instruction as required.
  • Perform duties related to habit training.
  • Maintain accurate records of student data.
  • Follow behavior management protocols tailored to each student.
  • Ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Submit all data and documentation by specified deadlines.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
  • Ability to execute non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection of potentially aggressive students during crisis situations.
  • Capacity to respond swiftly and be mobile enough to redirect students who may pose a risk to themselves or others.
  • Ability to assist in the evacuation of students during emergencies.
  • Must obtain and maintain full certification in assigned crisis management programs.
