About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team at BayCare Health System. As a member of our pediatric healthcare team, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional and developmental needs of children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic and developmental play experiences to help children and families maintain normal life patterns and prevent significant developmental disruption.
  • Act as an advocate for children and their families, using your knowledge of child development to enhance the hospital environment for pediatric patients.
  • Implement a psychosocially and developmentally supportive program for hospitalized children and families.
  • Interpret the child's perception of their diagnosis and treatment through play and other means of communication.
Requirements
  • CCLS (Child Life Certification)
  • Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Recreational Therapy, or Psychology
  • Completion of a Child Life Internship
