- Interpret the child's perception of their diagnosis and treatment through play and other means of communication.
- CCLS (Child Life Certification)
- Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Recreational Therapy, or Psychology
- Completion of a Child Life Internship
