Position Summary: The Overnight Event Setup Specialist is tasked with the preparation and organization of event spaces, ensuring that all areas meet Pier Sixty's exceptional standards of excellence.

Compensation: Hourly rate of $18.00

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure event spaces according to specified layouts.
  • Efficiently stack and store equipment in designated areas when not in use.
  • Assemble and disassemble dance floors while upholding cleanliness.
  • Dress tables with linens and skirting for various functions.
  • Prepare tables with necessary items for meetings, including water glasses, notepads, and candies.
  • Ensure tables are properly highlighted with pin spots.
  • Refresh and maintain rooms between events.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness in guest restrooms throughout events, replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Facilitate room transitions by moving necessary equipment.
  • Support captains and Banquet Service Managers during events.
  • Maintain cleanliness in public areas, including the gallery and lobby, ensuring mirrors and floors are spotless.
  • Perform daily vacuuming of the ballroom and conduct deep cleaning as required.
  • Clean windows and ledges to ensure a pristine environment.
  • Spot clean chairs and conduct deep cleaning as necessary.
  • Organize and maintain storerooms effectively.
  • Perform spot cleaning on acoustic walls and movable partitions as needed.
  • Travel to various properties or venues as required.
  • Utilize a golf cart or loading cart for transporting supplies, necessitating a valid driver’s license.
  • Assist colleagues in completing tasks when necessary.
  • Execute general cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions, adhering to management requests.
  • Follow proper timekeeping policies and procedures.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or event setup preferred.
  • If possessing a driver’s license, ensure safe transport of materials and compliance with annual background checks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
  • Basic proficiency in English to facilitate communication.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive demeanor.
  • Demonstrated commitment to service, teamwork, and motivation.
  • Capability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules based on business needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions and meet productivity standards.
  • Consistent punctual attendance is required.
  • Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, with the ability to load and unload up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to maneuver items weighing up to 300 lbs using appropriate equipment.
