Job Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the senior leadership team at Community Health Programs, responsible for overseeing the organization's financial health and wellbeing. The CFO will collaborate with the CEO and other senior leaders to execute the organization's mission and vision, and will be responsible for the overall financial strategy and direction of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

The CFO will oversee and direct all financial accounting and reporting, procedures, and internal controls, including:
  • Monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciles control accounts to corresponding subsidiary ledgers.
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable verification, including daily deposits and proper classifications.
  • Preparation of financial statements in conformity with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and accounting records for examination by independent auditors.
  • Analysis, preparation, and presentation of financial statements to management, the Board, and the broader Community Health Programs community.
  • Review of departmental financial statements with management, providing assistance and presenting information at meetings as requested.
  • Monitoring departmental financial performance and internal controls.
  • Development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
  • Overseeing Community Health Programs' relationships with federal and state tax authorities and government regulators.
  • Overseeing payroll department and all related processing, reporting, tax filings, etc.
  • Ensuring compliance with fiscal governmental reporting requirements, including tax reports.
  • Overseeing and directing all revenue cycle activities, including accurate and timely billing to third-party payers.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, with a Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years' experience, including five (5) years in a healthcare organization, with experience in fiscal services (grants, contracts, billing and collections, bookkeeping, accounting, reporting) is required. Experience in primary or multispecialty ambulatory care and/or federally qualified health center is strongly preferred.
