Job Description

Lyon Shipyard Inc. is seeking a Shipyard Logistics Coordinator to join our team.

This role is responsible for coordinating the safe and efficient movement of vessels through the shipyard, ensuring the safe berthing and securing of vessels, and maintaining railways and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Dock Master in managing all dock operations, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement effective blocking plans to accommodate each vessel docked at the yard.
  • Ensure the safe berthing and securing of vessels under changing weather and sea conditions.
  • Maintain railways and associated equipment in good working order.
  • Coordinate daily with superintendents to obtain the scope of work.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and order materials as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of maritime experience in trade.
  • Technical training or relevant certifications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certifications are a plus.
  • Advanced math skills for precise calculations.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to work independently and comprehend complex instructions.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices.
  • Effective communication skills.
