About the Opportunity
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated faculty member to join our breast surgery program as an Assistant Professor. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented physician to contribute to the growth and development of our department while advancing their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform breast and axillary surgery with expertise in breast-conserving surgery, nipple and skin-sparing mastectomies, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and axillary node dissection.
- Participate in a multidisciplinary breast clinic with medical oncologists and radiation oncologists, providing comprehensive care to patients with breast cancer.
- Actively participate in the education of general surgery residents, fellows, and medical students, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure the next generation of surgeons is well-equipped to tackle complex cases.
- Contribute to clinical and translational research, collaborating with colleagues to advance our understanding of breast cancer and develop innovative treatments.

The Department of Surgery at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is a dynamic and collaborative environment that values excellence, innovation, and patient-centered care. Our team of nine clinically active faculty members is dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients with a range of surgical needs, including breast cancer, melanoma, sarcoma, and endocrine tumors.
Our Breast Care Center
The Breast Care Center at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is a comprehensive program that offers a range of services, including surgical, medical, and radiation oncology, as well as genetic counseling and research support. Our multidisciplinary breast clinic is led by experienced physicians and staffed by nurse navigators, plastic surgeons, and research nurses, ensuring patients receive coordinated and compassionate care.
