Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Financial Reporting Accountant to oversee our financial reporting processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the preparation and evaluation of financial statements, guaranteeing adherence to GAAP and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Manage the financial reporting workflow, including the consolidation of financial outcomes across various entities.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of SEC filings, such as 10Ks, 10Qs, and other mandatory disclosures.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and precise reporting.
  • Provide expert accounting advice on intricate transactions, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Engage with external auditors during the annual audit, ensuring all audit criteria are fulfilled.
  • Establish and enforce accounting policies and procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Conduct technical accounting research and stay informed on new accounting standards, evaluating their implications for the organization.
  • Offer leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Assist the finance team with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis tasks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, to provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA designation is preferred.
  • Significant experience in financial reporting and technical accounting, with a comprehensive understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting obligations.
  • Strong expertise in managing the financial closing process and preparing consolidated financial statements.
  • Proficient in technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and financial instruments.
  • Experience leading or collaborating closely with external auditors.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities with the capacity to interpret and apply complex accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the capability to mentor and develop accounting professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial reporting software and ERP systems.

Experience with a Big 4 firm is required.
