Job Summary

This role involves performing complex security enforcement work, including monitoring and patrolling grounds, checking employees and visitors, and safeguarding buildings and equipment. The successful candidate will work under general supervision with moderate latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and patrol grounds, buildings, and secured areas to prevent unauthorized access and ensure the safety of employees and visitors.
  • Check employees and visitors in and out of the facility, verifying their identity and authorization.
  • Inspect and safeguard buildings, properties, and equipment to prevent damage or loss.
  • Maintain facility security and traffic control, including monitoring cameras and recording incidents.
  • Respond to emergencies, including fires, unusual occurrences, and security breaches.
  • Collaborate with facility staff to meet established objectives and goals, sharing information and identifying concerns and trends.
  • Identify, report, and apprehend individuals who attempt to enter state buildings and work areas without authorization.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Level II or III security guard license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (preferred).
  • Military police experience (preferred).
  • Ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week and be on-call.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to security risks and emergencies. The role requires the ability to remain alert, observant, and physically able to respond appropriately to work situations or emergencies.
