Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Director to join our team at the Park Hill School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment and hiring of support staff, supervising job analysis, and managing unemployment claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the recruitment and hiring process for support staff
  • Supervise job analysis and make recommendations for selection and classification purposes
  • Assist in the management of unemployment claims
  • Supervise and manage support staff evaluations, job improvement plans, and termination proceedings
  • Effectively screen and manage job applications
  • Monitor job descriptions to ensure they meet legal constraints and remain current
  • Review, analyze, and audit the District employee performance appraisal program
  • Assist in the recruitment of certified staff
  • Participate in the planning, organization, development, and conduct of personnel orientation, staff development, and in-service training programs for support staff
  • Assist in the management of substitute staff
  • Manage employees on Worker's Compensation
  • Manage the human resources functions associated with summer school staffing
  • Oversee the operations of the time and attendance system
  • Assist with internal investigations
Requirements
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, procedures, and trends pertaining to the management of personnel management functions and activities
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, techniques, and strategies of modern organization, management, and supervision
  • Knowledge of legal mandates, policies, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to educational and personnel management processes
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, techniques, and strategies of employee/employer relations, modern organization, management, and supervision
  • Knowledge of labor relations, unemployment insurance, workers' compensation, state and federal laws and guidelines related to public human resources management and governing human resources administration
  • Knowledge of employer/employee relations under collective bargaining, including negotiations of contract, administration of grievance, and unfair labor practices
  • Knowledge of job analysis, survey techniques, and salary administration
  • Ability to write policies, regulations, and contract language clearly and concisely
  • Ability to read, interpret, and administer policy, complex laws, technical and general rules and regulations
  • Ability to compute basic statistical analyses
  • Ability to conduct and interpret research
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
  • Ability to chair meetings, lead discussions, and elicit individual and group cooperation
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
