Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at CRH. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, ensuring that our fleet is in top working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks on heavy equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
    • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with heavy equipment, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
    • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Repair and Overhaul
    • Perform repairs and overhauls on heavy equipment, including welding, machining, and fabrication.
    • Replace defective parts and components, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic pumps.
    • Test and inspect repaired equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including time and materials used.
    • Prepare and submit reports on equipment maintenance and repair activities.
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Work collaboratively with other maintenance team members to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and repaired.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other stakeholders to ensure that equipment maintenance and repair activities are completed on time and within budget.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Two-year certificate or associate's degree in heavy equipment maintenance or a related field preferred.
    • Three to six months of experience in heavy equipment maintenance or a related field required.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with heavy equipment.
    • Knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical Demands
    • Able to lift and move heavy equipment and parts.
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
    • Able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
