Senior Field Mechanic

The Senior Field Mechanic is a key member of our team, responsible for traveling to project sites across the designated service area to support our field teams. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

About the Role
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various types of fleet equipment, including malfunctioning parts and systems.
  • Travel to project sites across the designated service area, supporting our field teams and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
  • Use independent judgment to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific work situations.
  • May provide oversight for less experienced mechanics and ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
  • Perform a full range of servicing and repairs on various types of fleet equipment, including routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Identify mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment and take corrective action to ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of time and materials used on each job, the condition of the equipment, and the repairs performed.
  • Track information in computer software and ensure that all repair orders and weekly timesheets are complete and accurate.
  • Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Must have completed a vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair and have four years of experience OR five years of experience in general heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair.
  • Must be capable of operating company vehicles and equipment on a daily basis and have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
