Job Summary

As a Field Mechanic with MYR Group, you will travel to project sites across the designated service area to support our field teams. Your skills will be utilized to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor equipment repairs safely and professionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a full range of servicing and repairs on various types of fleet equipment, including malfunctioning parts and systems.
  • Frequently travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Identify mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintain records of time and materials used on each job, the condition of the equipment, and the repairs performed.
  • Track information in computer software; Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
  • Participate in training programs; keep current with hazardous material training requirements.
Requirements
  • Must have completed a vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair and have four years of experience OR five years of experience in general heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair.
  • Must be capable of operating company vehicles and equipment on a daily basis.
  • CDL preferred, not required.
  • Proven ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
  • Basic computer or data entry skills.
  • Solid experience using mechanical tools, materials, and testing equipment.
  • Solid knowledge of design, adjustment, operation, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment.
  • Good understanding of applicable regulatory guidelines and rules.

  • Salary $64,480-$74,880 / year with the option to work overtime.
  • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly.
  • Two days per week remote work option for non-field roles depending on position and performance.
