Pima Medical Institute seeks a qualified Respiratory Therapy Instructor to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans for Respiratory Therapy students, incorporating scheduled activities and materials.
  • Plan instruction to achieve specific objectives based on student need and established curriculum.
  • Monitor student attendance and coordinate with the Associate Director when absences occur.
  • Prepare attendance reports for the office management department on a weekly basis.
  • Review student success rates and implement strategies to reduce withdrawals.
  • Maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught in the program.
  • Evaluate student performance regarding curriculum achievements and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
  • Arrange and coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and visits to therapy clinics.
  • Prepare lectures, labs, and practical demonstrations for students.
  • Assist and advise students with Respiratory Therapy program curriculum.
  • May assist with coordinating externships for Respiratory Therapy students.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree; Baccalaureate degree preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a hospital/clinical respiratory therapist.
  • One (1) year of instructor experience in an accredited respiratory therapy program preferred.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) State license.
  • Current respiratory therapy and teaching licenses, certifications, or other designations as required by local, state, or federal laws.

Skills

  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, and other computer skills.
