Position Overview
Our client is in search of a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Office Manager/Human Resources Specialist to become a valuable member of their team. The successful candidate will possess a robust administrative background with a minimum of one year of experience in human resources. This role is pivotal in supporting the Office Manager while managing various HR responsibilities, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll tasks, and benefits management. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential for this position.

Salary and Work Schedule
Salary: $52,000 - $62,400 per year
Shift: First
Work Hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Education: No Degree Required

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and publishing job postings
  • Review resumes and applications; conduct preliminary phone interviews
  • Organize and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
  • Perform reference checks and background screenings
  • Prepare and distribute offer letters and onboarding documentation
  • Conduct orientations for new employees and ensure completion of all onboarding paperwork
  • Facilitate the setup of new employee accounts and workstations
  • Address employee inquiries and provide assistance regarding HR policies and procedures
  • Support in resolving employee issues and conflicts (including disciplinary actions and investigations)
  • Maintain accurate and current employee records
  • Review and guide managers on employee evaluations
  • Create, revise, and implement policies and procedures; manage attendance guidelines
  • Oversee workers' compensation administration and injury reporting
  • Consult with managers on separation decisions and provide advice
  • Complete or review final paperwork for separations
  • Conduct separation meetings with supervisors for involuntary separations
  • Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees
  • Assist in payroll processing and resolving discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and modifications
  • Coordinate with benefits providers to address employee concerns
  • Conduct benefits orientations and respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits packages
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies
