Associate Director Financial Aid

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director Financial Aid to join our team at Murray State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Financial Aid office, including training and management of operational staff, awarding aid, verification, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and appeals, return to Title IV calculations (R2T4), compliance and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain full working knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations and develop departmental procedures to ensure continued compliance.
- Provide leadership, training, supervision, and professional development of staff members.
- Develop and execute auditing and quality assurance procedures to monitor all daily performance of staff.
- Troubleshoot awarding and disbursement of aid and resolve all discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Counsel students and parents as needed.
- Participate in college night functions, summer orientation sessions, workshops, classes, and other activities as necessary.
- Work closely with federal, state, and internal auditors.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure the University remains in compliance with regards to maintaining eligibility to utilize Title IV funding.
- Work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Systems to ensure quality of awarding and reporting processes.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Two years of supervision experience.
- Minimum of three years' experience with administering federal financial aid, working with federal regulatory guidelines, and federal financial aid software systems.
