Position Overview

We are in search of an experienced Construction Manager who will be responsible for managing all facets of construction related to telecommunications and wireless initiatives. This role encompasses vendor selection, on-site oversight, and collaboration with subcontractors, OEM installers, and client representatives. The Construction Manager will serve as the authority on construction matters pertaining to the erection and modification of towers, collocation, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), and small cell projects, including in-building iDAS and public right-of-way oDAS & Small Cells, as well as related inside and outside plant construction techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance and influence the decisions of District and/or Program and Project Managers regarding all construction activities.
  • Engage actively in the vendor selection process and provide informed recommendations.
  • Participate in deployment and other client meetings as a subject matter expert.
  • Foster client relationships to potentially sway clients towards awarding service contracts to the company.
  • Conduct regular site inspections throughout the construction phases, including bid walks, pre-construction assessments, ongoing site evaluations, punch list reviews, and project closeout.
  • Guide general contractors during foundational work.
  • Ensure competitive pricing for quality services, negotiate costs within project parameters, and hold vendors accountable for budget adherence.
  • Address on-site challenges and provide recommendations based on urgency and necessity.
  • Guarantee compliance with company construction standards, processes, and protocols.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate project documentation and ensure timely distribution of closeout materials in line with corporate and client standards.
  • Ensure job accuracy within the project tracking system.
  • Act as a safety observer and Quality Assurance representative, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and workmanship standards.

Education and Certifications

  • High School diploma is mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Experience and Minimum Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of experience in telecommunications/wireless construction.
  • Familiarity with Outside Plant Construction methods (both aerial and underground) for Small Cell Solutions (SCS).
  • Knowledge of testing equipment and techniques for RF Sweep tests, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), Power Meter, and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing for SCS.
  • Understanding of NESC, NEC, and OSHA regulations.

Additional Skills and Abilities

  • Expertise in budget formulation and management.
  • Understanding of the construction management lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with site acquisition protocols, including regulatory and permitting processes.
  • Ability to interpret and understand blueprints.
  • Capability to identify workflow issues, recognize critical paths, and implement solutions.
  • Strong customer service focus with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and project management software.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this contract role ranges from $40 to $50 per hour, contingent upon experience.

Our compensation structure is based on role, level, and geographical location. The displayed range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires in this position across all US locations. Individual compensation within this range is determined by work location and various factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
