Salary Range: $20.00 per hour
Basic Function - Supervise assigned streets, parking lots, garages, and public areas to guarantee adherence to parking regulations.
Shift is Saturday only, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
We are looking for a dependable self-starter who is at ease working autonomously, occasionally engaging with the public.
This role involves parking enforcement duties in the vicinity of designated parking facilities.
Prior experience in customer service is essential.
Willingness to cover weekday shifts on an on-call basis is highly desirable.
A clean driving record is required to pass the motor vehicle record check.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to directions, events, building locations, and parking regulations.
- Issue citations and warnings for violations using a handheld device or manual tickets. Impound, boot, or relocate vehicles as necessary.
- This position necessitates the ability to work independently, requiring sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with the public.
- Assist maintenance personnel with tasks related to parking equipment and facility upkeep, including inspecting lots for maintenance needs, painting, cleaning, and repairing parking meters and payment machines, and installing signage.
- Support the collection and security of all funds received through parking meters and other revenue collection methods.
- Collaborate with event staff on parking-related activities, including event setup, traffic management, payment collection, and lot usage oversight.
- Assist office staff with permit sales during peak seasons, including data entry, mail preparation, and frontline customer service.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
* Please note that Parking Compliance Officers are not sworn law enforcement officers and do not possess arresting authority.
Qualifications
Qualification Requirements: Candidates for parking enforcement officer roles must possess specific traits and abilities to meet performance expectations. Key competencies include:
- Familiarity with the geography of the enforcement area
- Understanding of safety precautions and hazards
- Proficiency in using handheld computing devices
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle or bicycle
- Knowledge of and ability to apply parking regulations
- Capability to interact courteously and tactfully with others
- Ability to walk for extended periods
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire
Availability to Work: Shift requirements may vary based on the hiring needs of the location. Availability for 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends may be necessary.
License Requirement: Candidates must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license with an up-to-date address and acceptable driving record.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for various tasks, and communicate effectively. Employees may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including snow and extreme heat.
Employees work in and around potentially hazardous traffic situations and must prioritize safety at all times.
