Key Responsibilities:- Manage supplier performance and identify potential quality issues.
- Support supplier risk assessments and updates to the Approved Supplier List.
- Lead supplier quality audits and ensure compliance with established standards.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding change notifications and follow-up actions.
- Analyze defect trends and initiate corrective actions with suppliers.
- Assist suppliers with conducting FMEA, process capability studies, and DOE.
- Perform quality systems and process audits of current and prospective suppliers.
- Recommend opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvements with suppliers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate component specifications.
- Coordinate the approval of new suppliers and communicate status to pending suppliers.
- Support the development and implementation of methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating supplier products and processes.
- Coordinate with customers and suppliers regarding quality performance, trends, and corrective actions.
- Work with suppliers to improve products and processes through lean manufacturing and six-sigma principles.
- Support the APQP process in design and process reviews.
- Manage the qualification of supplier process change requests.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 4-7+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a Supplier Quality role.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and gage design knowledge.
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
- Direct experience leading supplier quality investigations and CAPA activities.
- Professional auditing certification by ISO, ASQ, or similar preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485 required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and problem-solving skills.
The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions is essential for this role.
Mathematical Skills:The ability to apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations is required.
Language Skills:The ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and legal documents is necessary.
Computer Skills:Proficiency with automated inspection software and MS Office Suite is required.
