Position Description:
Brewer Offord & Pedersen LLP is actively seeking skilled candidates for a newly established associate attorney role focused on real estate litigation. Ideal candidates will be intelligent, self-motivated individuals with relevant experience in litigation and property law. The associate attorney will collaborate with our existing team to deliver exceptional legal services to our growing client base across California. This role offers the chance to cultivate personal expertise and clientele while engaging in both current and future firm matters.
Compensation and Benefits:
As a boutique law firm, we prioritize quality over quantity. Our attorneys are not bound by fixed billable hour requirements and are expected to average only about 25 billable hours per week. Additionally, we offer unlimited paid time off, subject to client satisfaction and firm needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research utilizing resources such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Prepare for and attend court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
- Represent clients in litigation matters
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients
- Collaborate with fellow attorneys and legal professionals on case strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
- Strong understanding of legal principles and procedures
- Experience in legal research and document drafting
- Proficient in using Westlaw, Lexis-Nexis, and other legal research tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 per year
