POSITION SUMMARY:

As an Additive Manufacturing Specialist at ADDMAN Engineering LLC, you will play a pivotal role in the realm of aerospace and advanced manufacturing technologies. This position places you in direct collaboration with clients, transforming their innovative concepts into tangible products. A key aspect of your role will involve engaging in preliminary sales discussions to translate customer feedback into precise requirements and proposals. Your expertise in additive manufacturing and cutting-edge software will be essential in optimizing customer designs for printability and performance. This includes crafting support and compensation strategies aimed at achieving first-time print success that meets the highest quality standards. At ADDMAN Engineering LLC, you will be part of a rapidly expanding elite engineering team, frequently collaborating with program managers, materials and process engineers, technicians, machinists, quality assurance experts, and company leadership.

This position is governed by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), necessitating U.S. citizenship.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Investigate user requirements through discussions with sales teams and direct client interactions. Occasional travel to trade shows and client locations may be necessary.
  • Enhance part files to improve printability, simplify post-processing, and optimize functionality.
  • Develop build layouts and files for various laser powder bed fusion printing technologies.
  • Advance organizational capabilities in additive manufacturing process simulation, topology optimization, and generative design, including software evaluation and acquisition.
  • Create support structures and machining plans for product realization using both additive and subtractive techniques.
  • Collaborate with the CNC machining team to generate estimates for comprehensive CNC and AM/CNC hybrid projects.
  • Support manufacturing operations throughout the project lifecycle, including application development and low-rate production.
  • Assist in the quoting process, responsible for providing build time, machining time, and other essential information to ensure accurate and timely quotes.
  • Actively engage in team problem-solving, process enhancement, and decision-making.
  • Lead internal initiatives to improve quoting, design, or manufacturing workflows.

  • Self-sufficient, strong work ethic, and capable of completing tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Solid mechanical background and aptitude.

  • Proficient in computer applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
  • Competence in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Adept at transforming concepts into completed designs within budget and time constraints.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Enthusiastic about rapid prototyping and 3D printing technologies.
  • Prior experience in additive manufacturing.
  • High proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, AM build file preparation, generative design, topology optimization, and/or process simulation.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and CNC machining processes.
  • Expertise in GD&T and inspection methodologies.
