Job Summary

SMS Data Products Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Database Administrator to provide expert support for our AFRL Rocket Lab client. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and higher.
  • Develop and implement enterprise database backup, recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison for database-related queries and technical support between the NOC and customers.
  • Triage Network Operation Center level server tickets using Web Help Desk.
  • Provide intermediate-level network support and troubleshooting.
  • Support, administer, and maintain AFRL Rocket Lab specialized information systems.
  • Daily monitor network and storage devices.
  • Monitor and maintain uninterruptible power supply (UPS) devices.
  • Document problems with technical details within Web Help Desk tickets.

Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of MS SQL Server and SQL scripting experience, including SQL and T-SQL.
  • Satisfy IAT-11 certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE certification).
  • Experience creating packages, procedures, and functions on SQL.
  • Ability to create and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Favorable current Tier 1 (or higher) or an Interim SECRET (or higher) security clearance.
  • Experience authoring, managing, and deploying solutions using Microsoft Server Manager (MSM).
  • Experience in data integration and/or knowledge of concepts and strategies for data warehousing.
  • Knowledge in one or more programming languages, e.g., PowerShell, Python, Java, Batch, C++, etc.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of Azure, AWS.
  • Familiarity with Oracle.
  • SQL certification, e.g., MCSA, MSSQL.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year. Benefits include 401(k), dental insurance, flexible schedule, health insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance.
