About the Role

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled Sports Medicine Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in the prevention and rehabilitation of athletic-related injuries and illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site athletic and physical training, post-injury care, and rehabilitative care to clients.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive injury prevention programs, including the creation of alternative fitness programs.
  • Conduct initial assessments of injuries or illnesses to provide emergency or continued care and determine whether clients should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis and treatment.
  • Apply protective or injury-preventive devices, such as tape, bandages, or braces, to body parts.
  • Assess and report the progress of recovering patients to appropriate healthcare professionals and/or individuals.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programs for injuries.
  • Care for injuries, using physical therapy equipment, techniques, or medication.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as keeping records or writing reports.
  • Plan or implement comprehensive injury or illness prevention programs.
  • Instruct coaches, athletes, parents, medical personnel, or community members in the care and prevention of athletic injuries.
  • Conduct initial injury evaluations; develop written treatment and injury prevention plans.
  • Conduct biomechanical assessments, worksite evaluations, individual and group interactions with the intent of reducing injuries.
Requirements
  • State Athletic Training licensure, certification, and/or registration (as applicable by state).
  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of athletic training experience preferred.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
