POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general oversight of the Field Service Supervisor or Manager, the role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of HORIBA equipment at client locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Install, repair, and maintain HORIBA products at customer sites.
  2. Travel is required, with at least 75% of time spent on the road; candidates must be able to obtain a passport for international travel as necessary.
  3. Balance time effectively between home and fieldwork.
  4. Provide technical support to customers and internal departments, addressing inquiries related to parts, technical issues, and application assistance.
  5. Assist in preparing quotations, RMAs, or customer support when not engaged in active work orders.
  6. Maintain proficiency in multiple products with minimal external assistance.
  7. Contribute to the creation of technical documentation with the support of a technical writer.
  8. Complete work orders and Field Service Reports accurately and promptly for customer invoicing, warranty claims, and policy adherence.
  9. Keep detailed notes in the customer service database (Service Max).

Required Skills:

  1. Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues, supported by two or more years of experience in customer service.
  2. Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  3. Proficient in performing installations and repairs on scientific instruments, with a willingness to learn about HORIBA products.
  4. Self-motivated and eager to expand knowledge.
  5. Background in electronics, optics, or a related technical field is preferred.
  6. Proficient in PC software and hardware, including operating systems, drivers, and system settings; ability to replace PC components (e.g., hard drives, USB boards, memory, power supplies).
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex scenarios.
  8. Familiarity with Service Max or similar systems, Salesforce, and/or SAP is advantageous.
  9. Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline.
  10. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar applications.
  11. Excellent communication skills.
  12. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
