Amentum is actively seeking experienced Senior Mechanical Engineers specializing in marine applications to contribute to our NAVSEA Contract and be an integral part of the Marine Engineering Group. This group serves as the Navy's authoritative body for machinery systems across all surface vessels, aircraft carriers, and submarines. Responsibilities include the development, design, evaluation, and implementation of innovative marine system technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert consultation in various domains related to the design, development, and execution of technical products and systems, while drafting guidance and policies under governmental directives.
  • Tackle complex technical challenges and conduct advanced research, recommending modifications to enhance product quality and procedural efficiency.
  • Possess extensive engineering expertise, recognized as a specialist in one or more engineering disciplines.
  • Engage in advanced, intricate technical projects or business challenges that necessitate cutting-edge technical or industry knowledge.
  • Articulate objectives in terms of solutions or project goals.
  • May assume a leadership role within the workgroup, leveraging specialized knowledge.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience along with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficient in designing, analyzing, evaluating, conducting process assessments, performing root cause analysis, and establishing as well as maintaining specifications and standards while assessing risks.
  • Extensive engineering knowledge, recognized as an expert in one or more engineering specialties.
  • Must possess an Active SECRET US Government Clearance; US Citizenship is required for obtaining a SECRET Clearance.
