Job Summary:

The RN MDS Assessment Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessment. This assessment is essential for enhancing patient care and maximizing reimbursement for the care provided. The successful candidate will facilitate communication between various disciplines, including Nursing, Social Services, Activities, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. They will also effectively communicate with the business office regarding RUG levels and changes in insurance qualifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the completion of the MDS assessment to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Facilitate communication between disciplines to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Communicate with the business office regarding RUG levels and insurance qualifications.
  • Develop and implement nursing systems to enhance the accuracy of the MDS system.
Requirements:
  • One year of experience working with resident assessment instruments.
  • Current California RN license.
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in the English language.
  • Good organization, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of the PPS system for financial reimbursement.
  • Knowledge of Title 22 and OBRA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AANAC Certification.
